Gaffer backing Watford powerhouse to make impact
Steve Davis admits that the club may have found a young ‘Dele Adebola’ type of player in new loan signing Uche Ikpeazu. The on-loan Watford teenager certainly possess a similar style to the former Crewe Alexandra legend and he instantly made an impressive with his power and directness against Leyton Orient when replacing AJ Leitch-Smith as a second half substitute.
Davis will now be encouraging what he describes as ‘a man mountain of a man’ to get into the opposition penalty area more often to start threatening the goal.
Steve told the club’s official web-site: “Uche is certainly a big unit and a powerful lad. He is a man mountain of a lad, a Dele Adebola type of player with a presence.
“He is a real handful but we don’t want him to be on the wing. He have signed him as a centre-forward and want him inside the opposition penalty area. He has good pace and can get in behind and we have signed him to score goals.”
