Looking To Team Up With Chuks

Ikpeazu hopng to form successful partnership with close pal Aneke

Crewe Alexandra’s latest on-loan signing Uche Ikpeazu is hoping to form a successful partnership with his close friend Chuks Aneke. Ikpeazu, 18, has signed on loan until the end of the season and will certainly add an extra goal threat after enjoying a prolific period with Reading and Watford’s youth and Under-21 teams.

The Nigerian, who scored in Monday’s 3-2 Under-21 defeat to Huddersfield Town, is hoping to be involved against Leyton Orient this weekend.

The Harrow-born striker told the club’s official web-site: “It's good to have signed for Crewe and hopefully I can add to what we have already got and help us to do well. It's been good at Watford, I've worked hard but now is the time to get out and get games. Now I am at Crewe and hopefully I can make it happen.

“I have played mens football non-league when I was 16 and I did well, but now this is a big step but I am more than looking forward to it.

“Chuks is a good friend of mine, he is Nigerian just like me. He is a good player and he has been doing well, I like him a lot so to play with him will be great. I haven't played many games recently.

Uche added to Crewe Alex Player: “It was my first 90 minutes in a few weeks for the Under-21s and I thought I did well so hopefully I can kick on now. I love playing football and at Watford I wasn't getting a look in, so I want to show people what I have got.”
