Club hoping to bring back Fulham stopper on loan
November and he returned to his parent cub for treatment.thSteve Davis is hopeful of bringing back Fulham goalkeeper Neil Etheridge on loan. The two clubs are currently in discussion about the possibility of bringing the Filipino International back after he has recovered from his thigh injury. Etheridge suffered the muscle injury when kicking the final ball of the game against Crawley Town on 30
His original loan agreement expired in the New Year but Davis has said he has not ruled out bringing back the 23-year-old stopper.
Steve told the club’s official web-site: “The two clubs are working on the possibility of Neil coming back on loan. We have been working on it and we are hopeful that something can be concluded sooner rather later.
“Neil is close to returning to fitness from his thigh injury. He has worked hard over Christmas and we have kept in touch.”
After Neil suffered his untimely injury, Davis selected young Ben Garratt ahead of the more experienced Alan Martin and currently injured Steve Phillips.
He has the potential to become a really good goalkeeper for us, but he is still young and I wouldn’t expect him to play every week. Steve was full of praise for the young goalkeeper. “Ben has got better and better and I have been really pleased with him.
“Neil has more experience and it is going to be a tough second half of the season so I think if we could get Neil back on loan then that would be the right thing to do.”
