Mathias' timely return can give us a massive lift
Steve Davis says the return of Mathias Pogba from injury will provide a timely lift over the crucial run-in to the season. Pogba made his long awaited return at Rotherham on Saturday as a second half substitute replacement AJ Leitch-Smith but he couldn’t inspire a late revival to salvage something from our first ever trip to the New York Stadium.
Crewe ended up losing the game 4-2 after a thrilling encounter and other than the overall performance another real positive was the return of Pogba.
Steve told the club’s official web-site: “Pogs coming back has given everyone a real lift and we introduced him late on to see if we could inspire a late comeback.
“He has been out for six months with his knee and we have missed him. We have missed his presence and him coming back has given us a boost.
He added: “It was just nice to see him back and to give him some game time. It will take him a bit of time to get match fit again because he has missed a lot of football but he still has enough time to play a major part in our season.”
