Uche and Harry face race against time
On-loan striker Uche Ikpeazu and consistent defender Harry Davis are slight doubts for this weekend’s trip to Prenton Park. Both players have resumed full training today and are hopeful of facing Tranmere Rovers but have struggled to train earlier in the week.
Ikpeazu, the on-loan Watford striker, missed our mid-week win over MK Dons after picking up an ankle injury against Leyton Orient. The powerful teenager failed a late fitness test on Tuesday but is expected to be named in the travelling squad.
Harry Davis has some swelling on his knee but has trained today and is hopeful of declaring himself fit to face Ryan Lowe and co.
Steve Davis told the club’s official web-site: “We have some little knocks at the moment but we expect some of those to be clear by the weekend. Harry has some swelling on his knee and hasn’t been able to train since the game on Tuesday night.
“He will join in the session today and we’ll see how he is.
“Uche trained yesterday and looks a lot better today. We are hoping he is fine and will be included in the squad. Mathias is fine and the others came through a tough game in difficult conditions okay.”
Crewe will be without Vadaine Olvier (hip), Ryan Colclough (hernia) and Max Clayton (ankle).
