Crewe To Check On A Couple

20 January 2014

Alex boss may make changes ahead of MK Dons visit

Crewe Alexandra will check on goalkeeper Ben Garratt and new loan signing Uche Ikpeazu ahead of tomorrow night’s clash with the MK Dons. Crewe expect both to declare themselves fit after picking up slight knocks in the narrow 2-1 defeat to Leyton Orient on Saturday.

Garratt suffered a knock on his knee when rushing out to deny Kevin Lisbie in a one-on-one situation in the first half and substitute Ikpeazu rolled his ankle late on.

Steve Davis has also hinted at making a couple of changes ahead of a busy run of fixtures, which will include key fixtures against teams in and around us at the bottom of the table. Crewe face Karl Robinson’s MK Dons tomorrow night for a re-arranged fixture before travelling to Tranmere and Stevenage before facing Sheffield United at home.

Steve told the club’s official web-site: “Ben and Uche picked up a couple of knocks on Saturday but we expect them to be fit. Ben got a knock on his knee when he came out in the first half to make that save and Uche has just rolled his ankle.

“The signs have been positive though and we expect them to be fit. I may look at making one or two changes mainly because of the amount of games coming up. We have a number of games in quick succession and I will look to freshen things up a bit.”
