Steve Davis says Stevenage postponment has helped with numbers

Steve Davis says that the postponement of our mid-week game at Stevenage could well benefit those players who have been struggling with one or two knocks. The Alex boss is hoping to have centre-halves Harry Davis (knee) and Adam Dugdale (illness) in contention for the visit of Sheffield United tomorrow afternoon.

Crewe Alexandra have also been boosted with the return to training of Vadaine Oliver (hip) and Ollie Turton (knee) to bolster numbers. The Railwaymen will be without Ryan Colclough, (hernia), Max Clayton (ankle) and George Ray (ankle).

Steve told crewealex.net: “Harry will train today and the extra three days has done him some good. The swelling has gone down on his knee and he is fine.

“Vadaine and Ollie are back in training and just need some match fitness. We will be without the three longer-term players, although they are all making good progress. Everyone else is available.”
