Winger still suffering discomfort with abdominal injury

Ryan Colclough remains a major doubt for this weekend’s first ever trip to Rotherham’s New York Stadium due to an abdominal injury. The Alex winger has not featured for the first team since a late substitute appearance against local neighbours Port Vale in November and he has struggled with niggling injuries for the majority of the season.

The teenager has suffered groin and hamstring trouble after suffering a nasty hip injury against Accrington Stanley back in early September and a stomach complaint flared up after he made his comeback in an Under-21 fixture.

Steve Davis told the club’s official web-site: “Ryan is still struggling with his stomach and it is difficult to put a time limited on it because it is still causing him some discomfort.

“It would be nice to have everyone back and available for us but it is unlikely he will be ready for the Rotherham game. It will be great for us when we could have Ryan, Mathias and Ollie (Turton) back with us but the squad is looking healthier.”
