Boss Not Ruling Out Fulham Pair

13 January 2014

Steve Davis says he has not ruled out bringing back Mesca and Neil on loan

Steve Davis has not ruled out returning to Fulham to ask for Neil Etheridge and Mesca on loan. The Alex boss is looking to add to his squad and the Fulham pair certainly helped Crewe Alexandra pick up points during their initial loan spells. Goalkeeper Etheridge kept a clean-sheet in his final appearance for the club in a 1-0 win over Crawley Town but in the same game he unfortunately picked up the thigh injury which prematurely ended his loan spell with us.

Winger Mesca signed off with the winning goal against Carlisle United on New Years’ Day and Davis is in constant communication with the London club if he elects to bring in loan players to supplement his own squad.

Steve told crewealex.net: “We have a number of players we are considering and the Fulham pair fall into that category. We have developed a good understanding with the club and they have always been helpful with us.

“I thought Neil gave us a real presence in goal when he was here and it would be good to have him back if we could.

“Things are on-going with Mesca. A move for him is still under consideration and we haven’t ruled that out. We have Byron (Moore) here and we know how talented he is when he is on form, so we’ll see what we can do.”
