Boss happy with second half improvement so far
Steve Davis has said that Crewe Alexandra is now a different proposition in the second half of the season after a disappointing start to the 2013/14 campaign. Crewe’s recent form has seen us collect 18 points from our last 12 matches. The improved points tally has taken us out of the bottom four but with 16 games remaining there is still a lot of work to be done to make sure we escape the drop back into League Two.
Ahead of this weekend’s intriguing clash with the current league leaders Brentford, Steve told crewealex.net: “I genuinely think we are a different team now and we are much improved team from the first half of the season. I always thought that we would be better in the second half of the season and we have been pleased with our points tally in recent weeks.
“We have to keep it going and if we do then we will be okay. The players know there is a lot of work to be done yet.
“It has been a really challenging season with one thing or another but it is an interesting challenge nonetheless. You have to embrace it and you learn a lot. I think you learn more about yourself and players when faced with adversity.”
