Uche struggling to make derby clash due to an ankle injury
Crewe Alexandra’s on-loan striker Uche Ikpeazu remains a doubt for tomorrow’s derby clash with Port Vale. The Watford youngster missed last weekend’s 3-1 home defeat by Brentford due to an ankle injury but did return to training yesterday.
Ikpeazu scored two goals on his full debut for the club in the 3-3 draw with Bradford City but rolled his ankle in the fixture and has struggled since.
Steve Davis told the club’s official web-site: “Uche is still struggling and we will have to make a decision on him. He has trained but hasn’t been truly comfortable with it. He felt it a bit so we will check on him today.
“AJ has also turned his ankle and he is unlikely to be involved, but we do have some options with Byron Moore, Billy Waters and Vadaine Oliver, who is now fit and came through our Under-21 game on Monday.”
