Bakes: "Away Form Has To Improve"

Club's assistant manager says form on the road has to improve

According to the club’s assistant manager Crewe Alexandra’s away form has to be improve in the last few months of the season if we are to escape the drop into the League Two. Neil Baker has been encouraged by our performances since our first derby meeting with Port Vale back in November but he wants those positive displays to convert into more points.

Ahead of this weekend’s return fixture against the Valiants at Vale Pak, Neil told the club’s official web-site: “We think that we have to start winning a few more away matches if we are going to get ourselves out of trouble.

“We have put in some good performances away from home, but we have only won two away games all season and that isn’t enough. We need to improve on that because we have some difficult home games coming up.

“We are not going to win all our home games between now and the end of the season, so it will be important to pick up points away from home, especially against those sides that are in-and-around us at the bottom of the league.

“We have been encouraged by recent performances and some of the results but it is important that we continue to build on that. We haven’t been able to do that as much this season.”
