Uche Ikpeazu speaks to Crewe Alex Player after another goal on his 'second' debut.
Uche Ikpeazu described his second debut for the club as ‘like coming home.’ The powerful teenager, on loan from Watford until January 25th marked his return to Crewe Alexandra with the opening goal in Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Doncaster Rovers. His all-round display saw him win the Man-of-the-Award before he was forced to leave the field late on with a slight groin strain.
Ikpeazu actually scored his first goal for the club in front of the home support and he admits the only thing missing on the day was the victory at the end of an entertaining 90 minutes of football.
Uche told Crewe Alex Player: “When the fans sang my name and encouraged me and the team it felt like I was at home again. They make me feel so welcome that I don’t feel any nerves out on the pitch and just want to do well for them and the club.
“I want to come here and impress and it is great to have everyone behind me. It gives you great confidence when the fans, the manager, my team-mates and the club have so much faith in me.
“I just want to come to Crewe and do my best for the team and scored goals for Crewe. I am still not 100% match fit but my ankle is really good now and things are looking really positive.”
