U21: Coventry 1-2 Crewe

1 December 2014

Dalla Valle nets both as Collins' U21's record victory

Lauri Dalla Valle struck twice to earn Crewe Alexandra Under 21's victory at Coventry City.

The Sky Blues took the lead in Nuneaton through Marcus Tudgay, but a coolly dispatched penalty and a header in the last minute from the Finn gave James Collins' side the points.

The hosts started the better and took the lead on 19 minutes, Tudgay playing a one-two with Simeon Jackson before dispatching with the outside of the boot past Scott Shearer.

The Alex fought back in the second half and Callum Saunders went close on 61 minutes, hitting the inside of the post before Dalla Valle was given the chance to level from the penalty spot four minutes later.

He dispatched with ease, sending the keeper the wrong way before glancing a header in on 89 minutes to win the game for the Railwaymen.

Crewe Alex U21: Scott Shearer, Perry Ng, Joe Kearns, Anthony Stewart, Jon Guthrie, Liam Nolan, James Jones, George Cooper, Billy Waters, Callum Saunders, Lauri Dalla Valle
