Tate Decision

Steve says defender's experience could be important in second half of the season

Steve Davis says he would consider re-signing Alan Tate on loan in January because of the influence the Swansea City defender has had on the group. The 32-year-old defender has struggled with some niggling injuries but he has returned to the squad to add his experience.

Tate has made six appearances for Crewe Alexandra so far this season, but this Saturday’s home game against Bristol City would be his last of his current deal.

Steve told the club’s official web-site: “Alan has done well when he has played and he has been fantastic around the place. He has great experience and the boys look up to him and have learnt a great deal from him.

“He has had a positive affect around the place and he has fitted in really well. I’m sure he has thoroughly enjoyed himself and it is something we will consider doing again in January.

“He can play against Bristol City but then his loan up. We cannot do anything again until January when the window opens again because his 93 days are up. That gives us some time to make a decision and see what Swansea wish to do as well.”
