Alex boss gives us his post reaction from Glanford Park
He added: "That is football though and you have got to dust yourself off and go again. It is my job to keep their heads up and the players can take a lot from the performance.
"They changed to give themselves an extra man in midfield and that stifled us a bit but we got on top of it again and we went on again. I couldn't see them scoring and we are disappointed with the two goals we have conceded. They were sloppy from our point of view and other than that our defending was fine. That is the frustrating thing from our point of view because I thought we were the better side today.
"We hit the post, could have a penalty and their goalkeeper was busier than ours and the players did everything we asked of them. We continued to push on and worked hard to get ourselves level. It was a terrific goal from us, a really good passing move and Baillie produced a superb pass for Nicky. We were confident at half time and knew what we wanted to do.
Following a harsh 2-1 defeat, the Alex boss told crewealex.net: "The players are very frustrated in the dressing room because we have played really well and got nothing for our efforts. We played some excellent football today and at times we were unplayable. We were a threat throughout the game, had a number of chances and the new forwards give us hope. We can't feel too down after today because we played some good football and it was just one of those days for us when lady luck wasn't with us.
Steve Davis felt his Crewe Alexandra deserved something from Glanford Park after they conjured up a number of decent chances but we were left to rue not taking them as Scunthorpe took two of theirs. Crewe couldn't find a second equaliser after Miguel Llera had tapped in a late winner with 12 minutes remaining.
