Ness' Passing Was Excellent

Boss praise for midfielder's passing range

Crewe Alexandra boss Steve Davis praised the range of passing from his on-loan midfield player Jamie Ness on Saturday. The on-loan Stoke playmaker produced arguably his finest performance in a Crewe shirt in the 1-1 draw with Doncaster Rovers at the Alexandra Stadium and if it wasn’t for the all-action display from the returning Uche Ikpeazu then the former Glasgow Rangers man may well have claimed the Man-of-the-Match award as well.

Ness’ passing was immaculate as he continued to find the intelligent runs of Nicky Ajose and into Ikpeazu’s feet during the club's 1-1 draw.

Steve told the club’s official web-site: “Jamie played well and his range of passing was excellent both short and long.

“It is a just a question of him getting game time and he is getting that at the moment. He is improving all the time with the games.

“If I was a forward with a player like Nessy on the pitch then I would continue to make those runs because he can play those killer passes and find them. As a forward you can expect those balls to come.

He added: “On Saturday, he was unlucky with a couple of great passes through they just had too much on them or were cut out. They were just a fraction out.”
