Ness Delight In Victory

22 December 2014

Midfielder says result over top team shows how far Crewe have come over last few weeks

minute to give Crewe their first win since October.rdJamie Ness says that his first goal for Crewe Alexandra will only increase his growing confidence. The on-loan Stoke City midfielder has been in the best form of his loan deal in recent weeks and his match winning goal gave Crewe a much-needed victory over current League One leaders Bristol City on Saturday. Ness hit an unstoppable shot past Frank Fielding in the 73

Ness told Crewe Alex Player: “The game had a bit of everything on Saturday and it was great to be involved in it. The atmosphere is really good at the minute and all the lads cannot wait for the next game to come along.

“We are going into Christmas, so the games are coming thick and fast and that is what we want. It is going well for us at the moment and we are improving. I think we have played well in the last three games and we could have won all three of them. We only got four points but I think everyone can see the improvement we have made with the performances.

“We defended really well against Bristol City and Tate coming back in, I thought he was different class. When we were on top in the game it was important to take one of those chances and thankfully I’ve managed to hit one from the edge of the box.

“I don’t get many but when I do they tend to be a spectacular. I knew as soon as I hit it that it had a good chance of going in. I want to score more goals, it is a part of my game that I can improve. I feel I can pop up with a few more goals to help the team. I was delighted to see that one go in and for us to pick up three points.”
