Crewe Alexandra boss Steve Davis says his players can only look forward to the challenge of testing themselves against current league leaders Bristol City and promotion hopefuls Oldham and Preston North End over a busy Christmas period.

Steve told crewealex.net: “We have a bit of a break and then have four tough games in short succession. The Christmas period gives you a chance to pick up points in a short space of time.
“We have some tough games but they are all tough in this league. I see them as a challenge and if I was still playing then I would want to be out there testing myself against some of the best sides in the league.
“We are looking forward to it. We will approach each game the same, we will go and try and win them. We have a decent record against the best teams so we will have a go.
The Alex boss added: “I thought we did that against Doncaster at the weekend. With the additions we made, we took the game to them. We have to carry that forward.”
