Crewe's Performance Of The Week Accolade

23 December 2014

Crewe claim LG Performance Of The Week Award

“Hopefully we can build on that, the home games will be important to us.  If we can emulate that we will be better in the second half of the season”.

Speaking after the match, a delighted Steve Davis said: “It wasn’t easy – my heart was still going right to the end.  But, it should give us a massive confidence boost as long as we keep our performance levels like that.

Crewe enjoyed a much needed win against table toppers Bristol City in what was only the third set-back of their season so far.

Crewe manager Steve Davis will receive a new specially commissioned trophy made by world renowned silversmiths and LMA Partner, Thomas Lyte of London, in a presentation to commemorate the award.

The experienced and highly distinguished panel has managed a combined total of over 6,000 competitive matches in professional football.

The League Managers Association five-man Performance of the Week panel, comprising LMA Chairman Howard Wilkinson, Sir Alex Ferguson, Joe Royle, Dave Bassett and Barry Fry, were in agreement that this week the newly sponsored and longstanding LG Performance of the Week Award should go to Crewe Alexandra following their excellent 1 - 0 victory against Bristol City in the Sky Bet Championship on Saturday 20th December 2014.
