Winger hoping for New Year return after minor op to remove some scar tissue

Crewe Alexandra boss Steve Davis has revealed that Ryan Colclough’s minor operation to remove some scar tissue from around his pelvic bone has been a success.

The teenager is now back working with the club again after having the minor surgery to allow move freedom. Colclough had felt some discomfort when striking across the ball after he had stepped up his rehabilitation for a hip and hernia injury that has resulted in him missing over a year of football.

The 19-year-old is now back working on his recovery with head physio Rob Sharp, but is thought to be at least a month away a return to full training.

Steve told crewealex.net: “Ryan is okay. The operation was successful. It was only minor one to remove some scar tissue and improve his movement. It has done that and he is has said that it feels a lot easier, so that is a positive.

“Ryan has got to work hard again on his rehabilitation and make sure his condition is right for when he is ready to start training again. It is a small set-back but he knows what he has to do to get back.”
