Steve says trialist is in good shape and wants to play for Crewe

Crewe Alexandra boss Steve Davis has been impressed with the fitness and sharpness of trialist Lauri Dalle Valla. The former Fulham striker is back at Crewe trying to secure himself a permanent contract after a period abroad in Norway and Belgium.

The former Liverpool man did his chances of securing a new deal no harm at all by scoring twice against Coventry City’s Under-21s on Monday and Davis has already admitted this week that he would like to add the Finn to his squad if a deal can be agreed upon.

Steve told the club’s official web-site: “Considering he hasn’t been able to play much football over the last year or so, Lauri is in great shape. He looks after himself and was fine for the Under-21s.

“He is physically okay. There is still a bit of work to do and of course a Development game is slower than a competitive League One game but he was running around and was sharp.

“He scored a brace and is a goalscorer. We knew that from when he was here with us before.

The boss added: “Lauri wants to come and wants to play for Crewe and that is a real positive. He knows what this club is all about and wants to develop.”
