Steve Davis thanks his staff after LMA award
Crewe Alexandra boss Steve Davis has thanked the hard work of his staff and players after the club’s performance against Bristol City was voted the LG Performance of the Week Award. Jamie Ness’ first goal for the club gave Crewe a 1-0 win over the leading club in League One and the display was voted as the finest of the weekend by a five-man panel which included Sir Alex Ferguson and LMA Chairman Howard Wilkinson.Steve told the club’s official web-site: “I received a phone call from the LMA about us winning the award and I must say it was a nice surprise because there would have been a lot of good performances over the weekend.
“I must thank the staff and the players because they have worked extremely hard to improve our performances. It is nice to see that improvement being recognised. It shows that we are heading in the right direction and from a personal point of view it is a reward for all the hard work everyone has put in.”
