Steve says Saturday's game will be different after mid-week meeting with the Tykes
Steve Davis has admitted to the club’s official web-site that Tuesday night’s superb 2-0 win at Oakwell Stadium won’t count for too much when we face Danny Wilson’s Barnsley side again on Saturday at Gresty Road.
Davis was understandably pleased with his side’s performance against a club who were relegated from the Championship last season, but he knows that his old boss Wilson will have his Tykes fired up again for this weekend’s trip to South Cheshire.
Ahead of this weekend’s opening home game, Steve told crewealex.net: “We did our job on Tuesday. We wanted to get through to the next round and try and go as far as we can in the competition. We managed to do that with a good performance but that has gone now.
“We know it will be another hard game, like it was on Tuesday night. It starts 0-0 again and we will need to be spot on with what we want to do to get another good result. It is our first home game in front of our own supporters and we are all looking forward to it.”
