Ray Given All-Clear

28 August 2014

George Ray has been given the all-clear to feature this weekend

George Ray has been given the green light to travel to Kent to face Gillingham this weekend. The centre-half suffered a nasty facial injury in the club’s Capital One Cup tie against Bolton Wanderers on Tuesday evening.

The Wales Under-21 International has been checked over by the club doctor this morning and there has been no sign of any concussion occurring from the head injury.

Steve Davis told the club’s official web-site:  “George is fine. The doctor checked him over this morning and there has been no concussion. He has been given the all clear from the doctor to play this weekend and he wants to play, so that is good enough for me.

“George was a bit dazed after the incident and we were cautious with him. He has had five stitches under his eye but he just want to get on with it, so that is great news for us. “

Crewe will be without Jamie Ness, who has a hamstring strain and is expected to be out for the next three to four weeks.
