Pogba Completes Pescara Move

4 August 2014

Mathias Pogba has joined Serie B side Pescara Calcio for Undisclosed Fee

Crewe Alexandra can confirm that forward Mathias Pogba has completed his move to Serie B side Pescara Calcio. The deal is subject to International clearance but the 23-year-old has successfully passed his medical and agreed personal terms with the Italian club after Crewe Alexandra accepted an undisclosed fee for the Guinean International.

The former Wrexham man has now joined up with his Pescara team-mates at their pre-season training camp.

Pogba scored 21 goals during his 63 appearances for the club. He finished his debut season with the club as our leading goalscorer with 16 goals but he unfortunately missed the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy Final win over Southend after suffering a thigh strain on the Monday prior to the game.

Pogba’s second season with the club was disrupted due to the knee injury he suffered during pre-season. He returned to January to help the club escape relegation by scoring five goals in the run-in. That tally included the winning goal against Preston North End that safeguarded our League One status on the final day of the season.

Everyone at Crewe Alexandra would like to thank Mathias for his service and we wish him every success for the future.
