What the papers made of our first round cup triumph at Oakwell

A resolute defensive performance was needed in the second half to hold off a strong Barnsley challenge, but the result was no more than a determined Alex side deserved.
A first goal in professional football from Billy Waters gave Davis’s side the lead ,before a Matt Tootle goal five minutes from time doubled their lead after holding firm at the back.

GOALS from Billy Waters and Matt Tootle put Crewe Alex into the second round of the Capital One Cup on Tuesday night.
Waters bagged his first senior goal in the first half and captain Tootle notched a rare strike near the end to see off home side Barnsley.
The Railwaymen rode their luck at times and home striker Sam Winnall missed several good chances.
But on balance Steve Davis's men deserved their victory with an impressive all-round performance.
It was their fifth-straight win against the Tykes – and they will be looking to make it six when Danny Wilson's side come to Gresty Road in League One on Saturday (3pm).

Barnsley crashed out of the League Cup as they were beaten at home to Crewe Alexandra in the first round.
The Reds created far more chances than in the opening day loss to Crawley three days earlier but lacked a clinical edge and conceded poor goals. Billy Waters gave the visitors - managed by former Barnsley star Steve Davis – the lead on 32 minutes then captain Matt Tootle secured the win with five minutes left.
