Ness Being Assessed At Stoke

27 August 2014

Fear that midfielder Jamie Ness could be out for a few weeks after hamstring tear

Jamie Ness has returned to his parent club Stoke City to be assessed this week after he suffered a tear in his hamstring against Swindon Town. Ness missed last night’s Capital One Cup defeat to Bolton Wanderers and is currently undergoing assessment at our near neighbours before returning to Gresty Road to continue his rehabilitation with us.

Ness has joined Crewe Alexandra on loan until January and it is feared that he could be out for a few weeks depending on the severity of the tear.

Steve Davis told the club’s official web-site: “Jamie has had the muscle scanned. There’s a little bit of a tear in his hamstring. He’s just got a little bit of a pull in that.

“He will spend a week back at Stoke and then come back to us to start his rehabilitation. He’s had a couple of injections in it to settle it down.

He added: “It’s not serious but it’s going to keep him out for three or four weeks at least.”
