Influential midfielder likely to make Barnsley trip

Crewe Alexandra’s influential midfield player Anthony Grant is expected to be fit for tomorrow night’s trip to Barnsley for the first round of the Capital One Cup. “It restricted his running and I nearly took him off at half-time because of it but he wanted to try and get through it and we went as far as we could with him.

“I had to bring him because he couldn’t go on and we are confident that he will be fit for Tuesday’s game at Barnsley.”
