Uche Buoyant For Final Two

22 April 2014

On-loan striker looking to keep the Alex up

Scorer of a breath-taking goal in Good Friday’s triumph at Shrewsbury, Uche is ready to head into the final two fixtures all-guns-blazing in a bid to fire Crewe Alexandra to League One safety.

After that 3-1 win at the Greenhous Meadow, the Alex failed to make it a perfect weekend when they could only pick up a point in Easter Monday’s scoreless draw with Colchester at Gresty Road.

Four points from those two games was enough to propel the club out of the relegation zone heading into the final two curtain-closers with Bristol City and Preston North End, and Uche is confident of a strong finish to ensure they remain there.

He told the official website: “Generally we play well, I don’t even know why we’re in the position we’re in. But, at the end of the day we’re in it, so if we keep play the way we’ve been playing I think we can finish strong.

“We could be back in the bottom four as quickly as we got out of it. We’ve just got to keep working hard and keep believing and if we keep on picking up points then I don’t see why we can’t end up out of it.”
