Uche and Osman given all clear to make Crawley trip

Steve Davis says he has a squad of 21 players to choose from for this weekend’s trip to Crawley Town. Club captain Abdul Osman has returned for a recent bout of illness and is fit to travel to West Sussex.

Youngsters Ollie Turton and George Ray are in contention after successfully returning for the club’s Under-21s following injuries and striker Uche Ikpeazu has trained this week after a slight stiff ankle.

Crewe will be without long-term absentees Harry Davis (knee), Max Clayton (ankle) and winger Ryan Colclough (hernia).

Steve told crewealex.net: “We are looking fine at the moment. I have a squad of 21 to choose 18 players so that is good at this stage of the season. I will decide on who is travelling on who has done well this week in training.

“We have had a good week and it was beneficial not to have the mid-week game. We have prepared right and worked on what we want to do as team, whilst also looking at Crawley and what they do.

“We will go down to Crawley last today as part of our preparation and hopefully it won’t take the seven hours it took us to get to Gillingham. That was a long trip but we managed to win the game.”
