Great To Sign Up

Midfielder delighted to be the next to sign up

Billy Waters has told Crewe Alex Player that signing his new contract with the club has taken some weight from his shoulders. Waters, 19, has followed the likes of Ollie Turton and Jon Guthrie by recently committing his future to the club by signing a new two-year deal with the option of a third year.

The skilful wide man is now focussed on playing his part in the club’s bid to remain in League One.

“It’s like a weight off your shoulders to finally get it sorted, and it means you’re sorted for the next few years. Now I can focus on the rest of the season and then for next season, pre-season and things like that, ‘said Billy.

“It’s relaxing because you don’t have to stress about things for a while, but at the same time you’ve always got to stay on your toes and look to keep improving and progressing.

“Just because you’ve signed a contract, it doesn’t mean you’ve sorted it, you’ve still got to keep on working hard and looking to improve yourself.

“All the lads that have signed so far are just happy for each other and especially, because we’re young. It’s just good to see young players getting signed and committing their future to the Football Club."
