Duggy Ready For Wolves

10 April 2014

Uncompromising centre-half up for the fight

Adam Dugdale has been enjoying his recent return to the starting XI, and he’s confident it can be made even sweeter by ruining the Wolves promotion party on Saturday.

If Rotherham United lose to Bradford City on Friday night, then Wanderers will have the opportunity to seal their promotion back to the Championship with victory at Gresty Road – a result Duggy is dead set on preventing.

The Alex of course need the points themselves to ease their own relegation fears, but he insists all the pressure is on the visitors from the Black County.

Duggy told Crewe Alex Player: “There’s no pressure on us for Saturday, although we need the points. They’re a massive club in this league and the away following they’re taking every week is huge. Add that to crowds they’re getting at home and it’s frightening – they’re just a huge football club, a Premiership club really.

“All we can do now is go out on Saturday and stick together and fight because the pressure is on them to come here and turn us over. We beat Preston away and got some good results against the bigger clubs, so we’ll be going into the game confident in trying to get back-to-back wins."
