Cotterill Has Helped Transform Bristol City

Alex boss praise for job Steve Cotterill has achieved at Ashton Gate

Steve Davis has praised the job Steve Cotterill has undertaken at Bristol City after he replaced the luckless Sean O’Driscoll back in December. Bristol City were struggling in the bottom four at the time and had already lost 1-0 at Gresty Road thanks to Byron Moore’s stoppage time penalty back in October.

The experienced Cotterill has come into Ashton Gate to turn things around, getting them free of the bottom places and pushing for a top half finish. The former Burnley, Stoke and Nottingham Forest manager deserves great credit for turning around their season at an important time.

Ahead of our final away game of the season The Alex boss told crewealex.net: “Steve came in and turned things around for them. It took some time initially but he has made a real difference to them. He got them away from trouble and they have pushed on.

“They are in great form, they have lost just one of their last 11 and this is their final home game before they begin development on a new stand, so we know there will be a number of home supporters there.

“When we played Bristol City earlier in the season, we were left scratching our heads  a bit as to why they were struggling. Maybe they found it hard to adjust dropping out of the Championship because we thought they had good players, Championship players.

“They had enough quality players to pull away from danger and Steve has gone in there and transformed things. They are on a really good run and we know it will be tough.”
