Academy winger rewarded with a three-year deal after emerging through the Academy

Crewe Alexandra is delighted to announce that George Cooper, 17, has signed a new three-year contract with the club taking him through to the summer of 2016. The talented winger, who originates from Warrington, has emerged through the club’s renowned Academy system and has been outstanding form for the Under-18s and Under-21s this season.

Manager Steve Davis told the club’s official web-site: “We always try and be pro-active with our own young players and George is the latest talent to emerge from the first year scholars.

“He is an outstanding talent and has been in great form this season. Dario (Gradi) has always looked to reward young players when they deserve it and that has been the case again with George.

“We are delighted that he is here and here for a long period because our supporters enjoy watching our young players come through the system and play in our first-team. The young players at this club are the heartbeat and key to our survival.

“George is certainly heading the right way and has been rewarded for all his hard work.”
