Davis happy with defensive options
Steve Davis says he is happy with his defensive options thus supporting his decision to allow Adam Dugdale to get some game time out on loan with Tranmere Rovers.
The Alex boss has stated that he is expecting a quieter deadline day today and hasn’t planned to bring anyone else in before the midnight deadline.
Steve told the club’s official web-site: “I am happy with my options and the defenders we have at the club. Adam needed games so we let him move out to Tranmere on loan for a month.
“I do have options because we had four good centre-halves vying for two spots. We have Thierry Audel who can play there, and has played there in the past, and Kelvin (Mellor) who can slip across and play centrally if needs be.
“Thierry did get a knock on his ankle but he will be fine. It is nothing serious and we have enough cover in that position and that is why we have allowed Duggy to go out and play some competitive matches.”
