Steve expecting a quiet deadline day for once

Steve Davis says he has no special plans to add to his squad before the transfer deadline later tonight. With Football League clubs still able to loan players in on emergency loan, the Crewe boss says that it is unlikely that the club will be involved in any last minute transactions before the 11pm deadline.

Due to an increase in competition, Crewe has allowed Adam Dugdale and Michael West to go out on loan but stresses that he has enough numbers not to bring anyone else in today.

Saying that Steve has surprised the fans in the past when signing the likes of Brad Inman and Kevin Stewart on deadline day last season and Wes Fletcher and Jamie Lowry in the past.

Steve told crewealex.net: “I don’t have any plans to bring any more in and I am hoping we don’t have a bid for any of ours either. I am sure I will be watching it all unfolded but I think our squad is big enough.

“It shouldn’t be all about bringing players in but working with the ones you have got. I am pleased with the numbers we have and I will work with that squad.”
