Boss says he will only make decision on West and Dugdale when current loan deals expire
Steve Davis has told crewealex.net that he will only re-assess the loan situations regarding Michael West and Adam Dugdale for the benefit of the players and the Football Club. Both players have enjoyed reasonable success whilst on loan at Hereford and Tranmere respectively. Dugdale was on target in a seven-goal thriller against Brentford last weekend and West scored in Hereford’s 2-1 defeat at Gateshead.
Steve told the club’s official web-site: “It was important that Duggy and Westy went out on loan to play games and that is what they have been able to do.
“We have been keeping tabs on them both. I‘ve spoken to Martin Foyle about Westy. He has managed to score a goal and get game time, although he has been taken off in a few games. It is about him getting minutes on the pitch so he can manage 90 minutes better.
“I’ve spoken to people about Duggy and he has done reasonably well in the Tranmere team. I will speak to Adam at some point to get his feelings about it, but I’m sure he is enjoying playing games every week.
“We will only really assess the situation when their current loans are up. I am sure it is working well for them because they are getting competitive football again but if I feel that the two of them coming back match fit would help us then that would be a decision I would have to make. At the moment, they are feeling the benefit from playing games.”
