Steve Davis says league position is hurting everyone

Steve Davis says that if a positive result has to be achieved by a real battling performance at Boundary Park on Saturday then so be it. In the wake of a 3-0 home defeat by Walsall last weekend, the Alex boss is aiming for a positive response against Oldham Athletic this coming Saturday and says that last week’s defeat has hurt everyone.

Ahead of this weekend’s clash with the Latics, Davis told us: “It is a very testing time when things aren't going well but we have to keep going, not losing heart is important. Getting a result, however we get it even if is just a hard-earned battling performance, so be it.

“They are all trying, no doubt, but our decision making is letting us down. That is the minimum requirement for any player, when things aren't going well you have to roll your sleeves up work hard and show real determination.

He added: “We are looking for a response. I am sure they are all hurt, it hurts me, the staff, players and supporters.”
