Robbo: "Good To Be Back"

6 September 2013

Defender happy to be back involved for the Alex

Gregor Robertson has told crewealex.net that it felt good to be back playing after making his return to the Alex side in Tuesday’s Johnstone’s Paint Trophy win over Accrington Stanley at Gresty Road.

‘Robbo’ missed the early part of pre-season as he continued to recover from an achilles injury that kept him out for the back-end of last season. After building up his fitness and featuring in several U21 games, the experienced full-back was handed his chance in the game against Accrington.

The former Chesterfield man produced an assured display, and he is now hoping to push on and feature more regularly in the Alex team.

Robertson told crewealex.net: “It was good to be back on Tuesday. It has been a while with the recovery from the injury, so it just felt good to be involved with the lads again.

“My recovery was a slow process but I am feeling fit now and I am glad to have got my first game back with first-team under my belt.

“I felt we did quite well on Tuesday, it wasn’t an amazing performance but we did the job that was needed, especially after the result against Swindon. That was a bad day for us but we have managed to bounce-back with a win.

“Hopefully we can push on now, and personally I am hoping to keep involved with first-team.”
