Boss says recruitment set-up will improve going forward

Steve Davis says he is set to review the club’s overall recruitment policy to make sure that replacements are highlighted earlier if we are to lose one of our main assets.

The Alex boss is hoping to add more qualified scouts to his recruitment team thus lightening the load on himself and Neil Baker, who are constantly at games during the week. The manager is looking for targets to be highlighted earlier and dossiers built over a period of time before a final decision is made.

Steve told the club’s official web-site: “We are always looking at players and agents are constantly on to us offering us players. Although the window is closed, it is always on-going and myself an Neil are always out watching games and players.

“We are actually looking to improve our recruitment set-up, so that when we lose a player we have more options. I want to us have watched players over months and just be better with that. At the moment we are going out and having to make a quick decision on players, so it may be that we need more scouts in certain areas to give us a better overview. “
