Davis On Walsall

11 September 2013

Alex boss expecting an exciting afternoon.

Steve Davis is expecting another entertaining game when Walsall visit Gresty Road on Saturday. The Alex take on the Saddlers looking to build on their 2-2 draw with high-flyers Peterborough United at the weekend and Davis is fully aware they will have to be on their game against Dean Smith’s men.

Davis is full of praise for the job Smith has done at the Bescot Stadium and is admirer of the style of football that Smith is trying to encourage his side to play.

Steve told crewealex.net: “Like us, Walsall are overachieving, batting above their wicket. They lost a few players in the summer but they have had a decent start, so it will be another tough game for us

“They play lots of possession football which is pleasing to the eye and they get results. We had a couple of good games against them last season. We came back from 2-0 down at their place to get a point and obviously played the academy team against them on the last game of the season. They were good games and I expect the same again.

“Now we have had a couple of results, we have to show some grit and determination and get ourselves up the league.”
