Youngsters May Get A Chance To Stake Their Claim

Steve Davis has suggested he may give some of his fringe contingent a chance to stake their claim for a regular place starting at Oldham Athletic tomorrow. Davis says that the club have gone back to the drawing board in search of recording a first away win of the season.

The Crewe Alexandra boss told the club’s official web-site: “The players have had a good week. They have worked hard and been in every day. We have worked on things and everyone is determined to turn things around.

“We have started again and gone back to basics and getting that right. There was also going to be a time when that was going to happen and it is perhaps time to give others an opportunity to stake a claim.

 The boss: “It could be time for some of the younger ones to step up and make their mark in the game. They have had to be patient but we will see if they have what it takes to be successful in this division.”
