Boss says players are eager to prove a point
Steve Davis says his squad will be looking to take confidence from their 1-0 win over Accrington Stanley into tomorrow’s game with Peterborough United.
Davis is fully aware the challenge that Darren Ferguson’s men will pose to his side, but following a difficult start to the season he is hopeful that his side can take belief from their victory in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy.
Steve told crewealex.net: “Any win can give you confidence. A result gives you a boost and it has shone through in the training that we have done this week.
“To be fair to the lads, even with the results and the performances that we have had, training has always been good and I have never had to question their work-ethic. I think this week they have just had a little more confidence.
“It will be good to take that confidence in to what will be one of our toughest games this season. Peterborough may have had a little blip last Saturday but before then they had been scoring plenty of goals and getting some great results.
“They will be looking to bounce-back from that result and they are a real good side. They are attack-minded and throw bodies forward. It will be a tough afternoon, but the players are looking forward to the game and are eager to prove a point.”
