Youngster should be back for Walsall visit.

Steve Davis has told crewealex.net that he expects Ryan Colclough to return to training on Thursday. Colclough missed the draw with Peterborough at the weekend with a combination of a hip injury and a chest infection and hasn’t trained over the past week.

But Davis has revealed that Colclough is nearly over his chest infection and is sore hip is also healing well. Steve said: “Ryan is making good progress. He has had a couple of problems but his antibiotics finish tomorrow and I think it has nearly cleared up now.

“His bruising round the hip has nearly settled down as well now. So hopefully he will be able to take a part in the game on Saturday.”

Elsewhere, Davis also revealed that Alan Martin is expected to be missing for another week, but again doesn’t expect the injury to be long-term.

“Alan also has a sore hip. He was struggling with that injury towards the end of last season and I would expect him to be out for another week. I don’t envisage it keeping him out too long but Ben (Garratt) is an able replacement and I am more than happy to put him in.”
