Davis Expecting A Tough Challenge Against Posh

Crewe boss Steve Davis says the Alex will understandably be up against a very different challenge when they host Peterborough United on Saturday. The Alex got back to winning ways against Accrington Stanley on Tuesday, but a visit from Darren Ferguson’s men promises to be a tough challenge for Davis and his squad.

While Stanley absorbed pressure for much of Tuesday’s game, Peterborough have been in lethal form so far this campaign. Posh have already bagged 23 goals this season, including a 5-0 win over Tranmere and 6-0 Capital One Cup thrashing of Championship side Reading.

Although they suffered a 2-0 loss at home to Crawley on Saturday, Davis is still expecting a tough afternoon.

Steve told crewealex.net: “The game on Saturday will be a different test. They are one of the top teams in the league, but we have done well at home and haven’t had a defeat at home yet this season.

“Hopefully we can take some confidence from the game on Tuesday in to Saturday. A win always helps you and we need to take that in to the game.We will have a look at what they do and then pick what we think is best for the game.”
