Matt Tootle's overall performance and attitude spot on says gaffer

In the wake of Saturday’s heavy 4-0 defeat at Notts County, Crewe Alexandra boss Steve Davis praised the attitude and performance of his right-back Matt Tootle.

Crewe certainly didn’t have too much luck at Meadow Lane and had chances to remain very much in the game but couldn’t convert them when on top in the game. The boss was understandably disappointed to concede four goals but was pleased with Tootle’s all round contribution.

Steve told crewealex.net: “I didn’t think it was a 4-0 type of game and there were actually a few good performances at the weekend, particularly from Matt Tootle. I thought he was excellent for us.

“His attitude and approach to the game was very good and he has been an example and inspiration to the others.

“He has been one of our most consistent players this season and is showing the way they should all be. He is always determined to do well for the team and help us come through a difficult time.”
