Baker says Toots and Moore playing some of the best football of their careers
Despite the club’s early struggles this season, the club’s assistant manager Neil Baker has stated that our former Academy youngsters Matt Tootle and Byron Moore are probably playing the best football of their young careers. Tootle has earned praised for his mature performances and leadership attitude over recent weeks and Moore has certainly been our main attacking threat in recent weeks.
Baker told crewealex.net: “Although the results haven’t gone for us this season I still think we are seeing some good individual performances. If you look at Matt Tootle at the moment, has he played any better than he is at the moment?
“Duggy has come back and was fine. Kelvin Mellor came back into the side at Fleetwood and was fine and over the last four or five games Byron has probably played some of the best football of his career.
“We have had some players playing really well and consistently well but that has still not been enough.”
