Mathias Pogba permitted to start running again

Mathias Pogba has been given the all-clear to start running again. The Crewe Alexandra forward is on course for an earlier return to training after sustaining a knee injury in the club’s pre-season friendly against Manchester.

Last season’s leading goalscorer is expected to return before the Christmas boost and hand Steve Davis and his side a huge boost heading into 2014.

Pogba received positive feedback from the consultant and will begin running again under the supervision of head physio Rob Sharp and conditioning coach Andy Franks.

Steve Davis told the club’s official web-site: “Mathias has been given the all-clear to start running again and we’ll have to see how he is. He has been excellent in his rehabilitation and that has given him a chance to be back before schedule.

“We will just have to assess how he recovers after running but it is looking really positive with him and every manager would like to have his better players available as much as possible.”
