Steve Davis is hoping that Max Clayton’s well taken finish on Saturday will be a catalyst for a run of form for the Crewe youngster. Steve told the club’s official web-site: “Max took his goal really well. He slipped by the centre-half to take Chuks’ through ball and slotted it away really nicely. He knows he has to do that on a regular basis for us.
“If he can do that then he will move on in the future. We have been saying for a while about a few of them that we hope an incident in a game will get their season up and running and it is the same with Max.
“If there is a positive to take from the game, it is that Max was back on the score sheet for us and hopefully it will be a key one for him and for us.”
