Boss hopes Clayton's first goal since the opening day will be key

Steve Davis is hoping that Max Clayton’s well taken finish on Saturday will be a catalyst for a run of form for the Crewe youngster. Steve told the club’s official web-site: “Max took his goal really well. He slipped by the centre-half to take Chuks’ through ball and slotted it away really nicely. He knows he has to do that on a regular basis for us.

“If there is a positive to take from the game, it is that Max was back on the score sheet for us and hopefully it will be a key one for him and for us.”
